Step Back…

Start Reading

“What is the most difficult thing to do,
when trying to implement any form of change?”

How are you gathering your facts and figures? With whom are you connecting to see if innovation is the right path? Is the timing right? Are people open for change? Do you have responsibilities that tie you to your current reality? Not allowing you to step back and see what is needed instead of what people constantly demand of you.

It is rare that any change has a starting point A and B. Change is a constant. It is always there and will always be.

When looking at the changing states of organisational development FOCUS is what makes your venture grow. “whatever you focus on expands…”. A very real and result driven rule to live by. There is however a challenge when people focus too much. They tend to become really good at one thing, while missing the opportunity of so many other things. It is this phenomenon that has been at the centre of so many who are reluctant to change.

You finally have something that you are good and have found a comfort in the daily routine that you execute well. Then there is someone coming in saying that you need to change your routine… telling you that you need to be more flexible and resilient. Demanding any Change from people who are performing well is a hard sell.

When charged with the transformation of company direction or organisational culture the biggest barrier to best is claiming time to “STEP BACK”.
In all the sense of what these 2 words entail, finding, creating or even claiming time to is one of the toughest actions to take to make the first step to real lasting CHANGE.

Why?

Personally I think it is because taking time to stand still is regarded as weak & inefficient. Slowing down has the opposite effect of people wanting to advance the ball. It just delays your path to where you want to go.
“It will only take longer if we do it like that…”,
“all that time spent doing NOTHING, is a big waist of time!”,
“While I slow down… others will step in and take my spot…”.

There are legion of excuses that make it impossible to stand still and stake stock. Not only look at what the situation that is defining your actions, but truly sense what is happening around you. Not only with what YOU are responsible for, but what EVERYONE in your organisation is helping to achieve.

The glass sphere is a metaphor for all of the actions people take within the eco-system of their shared goal. Taking time and feeling the liberty to “STEP BACK” and look at your company from outside of it, allows you to look back and appreciate what you have done AND look forward to see where you need to be going. It is a craft to master in a time where space for reflection has been trumped by quick efficient growth with little vision beyond one’s capabilities or even purpose.

Mastering the ability to change perspective, to serve a constantly better result is what Ai-fortuna will guide people to UNCOVER. This will UNLOCK your opportunities and help you to UNLEASH your potential.
